Course Description
This track is designed for technicians and apprentices building a working knowledge of machinery lubrication fundamentals, aligned with ICML’s LAT certification requirements. Sessions cover the basics of lubrication theory, including machine and bearing types, the core functions lubricants perform, and how viscosity requirements shift with speed, load, and temperature. Participants will also explore lubricant types, including oils, greases, and solid films, along with proper lubrication methods, greasing techniques, and the basic calculations needed to determine lubricant volume and re-lube intervals, as well as an introduction to oil sampling and analysis.
Taught by instructors with decades of hands-on field experience, this track equips attendees with the practical, applied knowledge and training hours needed to pursue LAT certification.
This course is aligned with the International Council for Machinery Lubrication’s LAT Certification. Candidates have two (2) hours to complete the closed-book examination. Certification prep note:
This training is intended to help attendees prepare for the ICML Lubrication Apprentice Technician (LAT) certification. Certification exam fees are not included and must be handled separately through ICML.
